Albanian-registered SR 6419 B squeezes onto the very edge of the road to get past a Mercedes Benz O303, with the prospect of a long drop to the saline lake at Butrini. It is on the bus service from the World Heritage Site to the nearby port town of Sarande. Such hair-raising trips are set to change. The European Community is providing cash to improve the road.
